
Praised for her vocal agility, expressive performances, and captivating stage presence, Canadian soprano Allison McAuley was most recently seen performing as Königin der Nacht in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at Odeon Theatre Wien with The Vienna Summer Music Festival in Vienna, Austria.
Ms. McAuley has performed a variety of roles including Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Gianetta (The Gondoliers), Mme. Goldentrill (The Impresario), Noémie (Cendrillon), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Charlotte Malcolm (A Little Night Music), Frasquita (Carmen), Despina (Cosi fan tutte) and Kristy in the children's opera House with Nevada Opera. Ms. McAuley has also covered the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto) and Gretel (Hansel and Gretel). Notable venues include New York’s Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Alvin Ailey, Symphony Space, The Dimenna Center for the Performing Arts, and The Provincetown Playhouse.
Born in Oakville, Ontario, Ms. McAuley attained her Bachelor of Music Performance degree at Queen’s University and earned her Masters of Music in Opera from New York University. She has also been engaged as a young artist with The Martina Arroyo Foundation, Berlin Opera Academy, Emerald City Opera, Opera Singers Initiative, American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria (AIMS), Nevada Opera, Manhattan School of Music Summer Voice Festival and Operaworks in Los Angeles.
Ms. McAuley is thrilled to be returning to Masterworks of Oakville this fall to perform Handel's Messiah in her hometown of Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
