Praised for her vocal agility, expressive performances, and captivating stage presence, Canadian soprano Allison McAuley was most recently seen performing as Fiakermilli in A Richard Strauss Opera Gala at The Quick Center for the Arts in Fairfield, CT.
Ms. McAuley has performed a variety of roles including Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Gianetta (The Gondoliers), Mme. Goldentrill (The Impresario), Noémie (Cendrillon), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Charlotte Malcolm (A Little Night Music), Frasquita (Carmen), Psyche (Psyche by Jeff Baker), Despina (Cosi fan tutte) and Kristy in the children’s opera House with Nevada Opera. Ms. McAuley has also covered the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto) and Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) for New York Lyric Opera Theatre. Last fall, Ms. McAuley was honored to perform on stage with Canadian legends Michael Burgess and Boris Brott along side the National Academy Orchestra in Michael Burgess Live in Concert in Hamilton, Ontario.
Ms. McAuley was born in Oakville, Ontario, attained her Bachelor of Music Performance degree at Queen’s University and earned her Masters of Music in Opera from New York University. She has received additional training at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, as well as at the Manhattan School of Music Summer Voice Festival and Operaworks in Los Angeles. Allison was also a resident artist with Nevada Opera during their 2012 summer season.
This fall Ms. McAuley will be performing with Opera Singers Initiative, where she is currently a resident artist, as well as with the Saint Andrew Chorale and Revolution Opera Alliance in Connecticut where she will be singing the role of the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel.
Ms. McAuley has appeared on Canadian television (YTV, CBC and MuchMusic) and was a regional finalist in the 2011 Classical Singer Competition. Ms. McAuley currently resides in New York City.
