Praised for her vocal agility, expressive performances, and captivating stage presence, Canadian soprano Allison McAuley was most recently seen performing as Zerbinetta from Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos with the prestigious Martina Ar-royo Foundation in New York City.
Ms. McAuley has performed a variety of roles including Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Gianetta (The Gondoliers), Mme. Goldentrill (The Impresario), Noémie (Cendrillon), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Charlotte Malcolm (A Little Night Music), Frasquita (Carmen), Despina (Cosi fan tutte) and Kristy in the children’s opera House with Nevada Opera. Ms. McAuley has also covered the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto) and Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) for New York Lyric Opera Theatre. Fall of 2013 Ms. McAuley was honored to perform on stage with Canadian legends Boris Brott and the late Michael Burgess with the National Academy Orchestra in Hamilton, Ontario. Notable venues include New York’s Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Cen-ter, Alvin Ailey, Symphony Space, The Dimenna Center for the Performing Arts, and The Provincetown Playhouse.
Born in Oakville, Ontario, Ms. McAuley attained her Bachelor of Music Perfor-mance degree at Queen’s University and earned her Masters of Music in Opera from New York University. She has also been engaged as a young artist with Opera Singers Initiative, American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria (AIMS), Nevada Opera, Manhattan School of Music Summer Voice Festival and Opera-works in Los Angeles.
Upcoming engagements include The Soprano soloist in Handel’s The Messiah with Masterworks of Oakville, Adele in Die Fledermaus with The Opera Company of Brooklyn and multiple performances with The Saint Andrew Chorale in NYC where she currently resides.
